Asher O. Geisler is the founder of Geisler Law Office.
Mr. Geisler commenced his practice of law in Decatur, Illinois, in
1956 and concentrated his practice on trial matters including criminal,
marital and civil litigation.
Mr. Geisler has participated in American Trial Lawyers
Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and
Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. He has spoken
at numerous seminars and clinics for fellow attorneys.
Mr. Geisler's wide range of experience gives the law firm a solid
base to rely upon. His history of experience in handling thousands
of cases over his career has often been relied upon by the other
members of the firm in developing trial plans and strategy in handling
cases now.
Mr. Geisler has represented defendants in a number of high-profile
cases in central Illinois. Two of his best-known defenses were the
Owens case and the Keough case. In the Owens case, an off-duty police
officer was charged with manslaughter for shooting a child in a housing
project. In the Keough case, a businessman was chared with attempted
murder for chasing and repeatedly shooting another man. In each case,
the Defendant was acquited of all charges.
Mr. Geisler also handled a number of civil and marital cases. He
is frequently consulted by younger attorneys in the community who
know of his willingness to discuss the handling of various kinds
of cases.
