Philip
J. Tibbs
Philip J. Tibbs is a former prosecutor with exceptional
trial experience. Mr. Tibbs was born in Lincoln, Illinois and grew
up in New Holland , Illinois in Logan County. Mr. Tibbs was graduated
cum laude from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois
in 1996, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He obtained his
law degree from Southern Illinois School of Law in 1999.
Before becoming a partner at Geisler Law Offices,
Mr. Tibbs was an associate attorney with Geisler Law Offices and
an Assistant Felony Public Defender for Macon County. Prior to working
for Geisler Law Offices, Mr. Tibbs spent nearly two years working
for the Macon County State's Attorney's Office as both a traffic
and felony prosecutor.
Mr. Tibbs has handled thousands of criminal cases
at both pre-trial and trial stage. Over his career, he has completed
numerous jury trials as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. Mr.
Tibbs currently concentrates his practice in defending individuals
accused of crimes throughout central Illinois. His cases include
traffic, DUI, misdemeanor, juvenile and felony work. He also handles
family law matters, worker's compensation and personal injury.
Mr. Tibbs has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since 1999.
He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Decatur
Bar Association. Mr. Tibbs has previously served as co-chair of the
Criminal Division of the Decatur Bar Association and also as Board
Member of 4-H Memorial Camp of Allerton Park in Monticello, Illinois.
He currently resides with his wife, Erika, in Decatur, Illinois. |
